Chair - Colette Hibbert

Hi, I’m Colette Hibbert and I have been the Chair of Nehanda since 2000. I am a Broadcast Journalist at the BBC where I write news and features for BBC News Online and BBC London as well as the London and the South East news pages for the BBC's teletext service Ceefax.

Prior to this I was the Editor of The Weekly Gleaner newspaper from 1997 to 2001. I also write news and feature articles for newspapers and websites and run beginners’ journalism courses for young people.

Vice Chair - Shivon Genus

Hi, I am Shivon Genus and I have been the Secretary for Nehanda since 2001 and Vice Chairperson since 2003. I also co-ordinate Nehanda’s parenting seminars which developed as a result of studying for a qualification with ParentlinePlus as a facilitator to train parenting skills to parents of ethnic minority origin.

I attend conferences and meetings relating to children with behavioural difficulties and am currently studying Psychology to support these skills.

I currently work full-time in the private sector for an international law firm in the city where I specialise in banking.
